Cybersecurity Seminar at NUST

CS Zone is proud to share that Muhammad Asad Ul Rehman was invited as a Guest Speaker at the Cybersecurity Seminar hosted by the TABA Youth Chapter at the National University of Sciences & Technology (NUST). The seminar, held on April 26th at the NIT Seminar Hall, brought together students, faculty, and cybersecurity enthusiasts for an engaging discussion on the growing challenges of the digital age.

During the session, Muhammad Asad Ul Rehman delivered an insightful talk on the evolving landscape of cyber threats and the importance of proactive security measures. Students were introduced to real-world examples of phishing, malware, ransomware, and social engineering attacks, highlighting how these threats can impact individuals and organizations alike.

A key focus of the seminar was personal security awareness, where participants learned practical steps to safeguard their online identities, secure their accounts with strong passwords and multi-factor authentication, and recognize potential red flags in emails and social media. The talk also explored career opportunities in cybersecurity, outlining paths such as ethical hacking, penetration testing, digital forensics, risk management, and cyber policy development — inspiring students to consider cybersecurity as a rewarding and impactful career.

The session concluded with a lively Q&A, where attendees discussed current cybercrime trends, asked about certifications and skills needed to enter the field, and sought guidance on building a professional career in cybersecurity.

This seminar was a valuable platform to connect with the next generation of cybersecurity professionals and emphasize the role they will play in building a safer digital future. Events like these underscore the importance of academic-industry collaboration in promoting cybersecurity awareness and preparing students to meet the challenges of a rapidly evolving threat landscape.
