There has been an increase in incidents of innocent citizens’ information being stolen by spreading fake links on social media. Fraudsters are taking advantage of the public’s greed by spreading fake links on social media. These views were expressed by Muhammad Asad Ul Rehman, a cyber expert at Cyber Security of Pakistan, while giving details about the fake links circulating on social media.
He said that fake links of free balance, free packages, or other lucrative offers are circulating on social media these days. The public is clicking on these links without verification and also sharing them with others. The public is informed that there is no truth to these. These are links created by fraudsters through which they steal the data of the public and harm them. WhatsApp groups are the biggest reason for the spread of these links.
It becomes very easy for hackers or fraudsters to hunt here because they message in the group and many people click on the links they send and fall victim to fraud. Group admins are requested to play their role and help the government agencies by getting rid of these pests and immediately removing anyone who sends these fake links from the group without any warning. This will help stop the spread of these fraudsters and fake links.
سوشل میڈیا پر جعلی لنکس پھیلا کر معصوم شہریوں کی معلومات چرانے کے واقعات میں اضافہ ہو گیا ہے۔ دھوکے باز عوام کی لالچ سے فائدہ اٹھا تے ہوئے سوشل میڈیا پر جعلی لنک پھیلا رہے ہیں۔ ان خیالات کا اظہار سائبر سکیورٹی آف پاکستان کے سائبرایکسپرٹ محمداسدالرحمن نے سوشل میڈیا پر گردش کرنے والے جعلی لنکس کے متعلق تفصیلات بتاتے ہوئے کیا۔ انہوں نے کہا ان دنوں سوشل میڈیا پر فری بیلینس، فری پیکجز، یا دیگر مراعاتی یا لالچ دینے والے جعلی لنکس گردش کر رہے ہیں۔ عوام بغیر تصدیق کیے ان لنکس پر کلک کرنے کے ساتھ ساتھ دوسروں کے ساتھ بھی شئیر کر رہی ہے۔عوام کو مطلع کیا جاتا ہے کہ ان میں کوئی صداقت نہیں۔یہ دھوکے بازوں کی جانب سے تیار کردہ لنکس ہے جس کے ذریعے وہ عوام کا ڈیٹا چوری کرتے ہوئے انہیں نقصان پہنچاتے ہیں۔ واٹس ایپ گروپس ان لنکس کے پھیلنے کی سب سے بڑی وجہ ہے۔ہیکر ز یا دھوکے بازوں کے لیے یہاں شکار کرنا بہت آسان ہو جاتا ہے کیوں کہ وہ گروپ میں میسج کرتے اور کئی لوگ ان کے بھیجے گئے لنکس پر کلک کرنے سے فراڈ کی زد میں آجاتے ہیں۔گروپ ایڈمنز سے گزارش ہے کہ ان ناسوروں سے نجات کے لیے حکومتی اداروں کا ساتھ دیتے ہوئے اپنی ذمہ داری نبھائیں اور ان جھوٹے لنکس سینڈ کرنے والے کو بغیر کسی وارننگ کے فوراً گروپ سے نکال دیں تا کہ ان دھوکے بازوں اور جعلی لنکس کے پھیلاؤ کو رکا جا سکے۔
